FAQs about applique
- Can you put an applique on a hat?
Yes, we can. We can put it on almost anything.
- Can you put an applique on a t-shirt?
Yes, we can, although we suggest you use a very lightweight felt and don’t stitch down the sides. Otherwise, it becomes too heavy for a t-shirt. A loose walking stitch is usually sufficient.
- Can I bring in my own fabric to use as the applique? For example a special flannel with my specific pattern.
Usually yes. Some fabrics melt in the laser cutter, but we can always try.
- I am looking for a tackle twill. Is this the same thing?
Yes, it is. Tackle twill is the name given typically to applique sewn on sports jerseys, but they are the same!
- Can you stitch down my applique with thick threads or yarn?
Yes. Yarn gives a great retro look. That type of thread is called filaine. Ask for it by name and sound smart.
- Can I bring in my own garment for applique?
No. We don’t do decoration on any customer provided garments.
- Can you do applique numbers and names on the back of jerseys for my team?
Yes, we can. We have lots of jerseys you can choose from under our jerseys product category.
